Welcome to Flash Reader Pro. We are committed to providing a high-performance speed-reading experience while maintaining the highest standards of user privacy. This policy outlines how we handle data within our browser extension and on this website.
2. Privacy-First Architecture (Local Processing)
Flash Reader Pro is designed so that your reading data stays yours.
No Cloud Storage: Any text you paste into the extension or any PDF document you upload is processed locally on your device.
No Data Transmission: We do not have servers that "read" or "store" your content. Your documents never leave your computer.
3. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of data required to provide our service:
User Preferences: We use the chrome.storage API to save your settings locally (such as your preferred reading speed, word size, and focal color).
Trial Status: A local counter is used to manage the 3-session free trial. This is stored on your machine and is not linked to your personal identity.
Authentication: We do not require a username or password. Access is managed via your local installation and subscription status.
4. Third-Party Payment Processing
We use Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record to handle all subscription payments and global tax compliance.
Secure Transactions: When you upgrade to Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy.
Financial Data: Flash Reader Pro never sees or stores your credit card numbers, bank details, or PayPal credentials.
Subscriber Info: We only receive confirmation of a successful payment and your email address to unlock your Pro features.
5. Chrome Web Store Permissions
To function correctly, Flash Reader Pro requires the following permissions:
Storage: To remember your reading preferences.
ActiveTab: To allow the RSVP engine to appear over your current browser window when activated.
Offscreen: Used for processing PDF documents locally without interrupting your workflow.
6. Limited Use Disclosure
Flash Reader Pro complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the "Limited Use" requirements. We do not sell user data to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising or credit-scoring purposes.
7. Data Security
Because your data is stored locally, it is as secure as your own device. We use industry-standard encryption for our payment gateways (Lemon Squeezy) and ensure all external scripts (like PDF.js) are loaded via secure HTTPS connections.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Delete your data: Simply uninstall the extension or clear your browser's local storage to delete all saved settings.
Cancel Subscriptions: Manage or cancel your $5/month subscription at any time via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal.
